I landed the incredibly fun job of designing book covers for high school students at Oakland School of the Arts. Their senior project was to write their own book and, man! Those kids can write.
I think my favorite thing about this process was that it was really a collaboration between myself and the students. Each person had a really strong, unique vision for what they wanted their cover to look like. I loved putting together all the bits and pieces they gave me (some even provided their own photographs) and making something really special that brought their books to life. The best feedback I got was from Margaret, who said “I’m OBSESSED”.
